Make a Difference!

RESCHEDULED DUE TO RAIN EVENT!

Join LPB at LARC’s Acadian Village in Lafayette on Sunday, January 29 from 1PM to 4PM for Daniel Tiger’s “Be My Neighbor Day!”

Daniel will be there to meet and take pictures with his fans! Acadiana non-profit agencies will have booths with activities and/or giveaways for the children. Plus, see how your family can volunteer with these agencies to make a difference in Acadiana!

Enjoy entertainment on the big stage from The Music Academy of Acadiana and others!

Participating agencies include:
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana
• Boy & Girls Clubs of Acadiana
• Children’s Museum of Lafayette
• Eckerd Kids
• The Family Tree Information, Education & Counseling Center
• Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf
• Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department
• Lafayette Public Library System
• Lafayette Science Museum
• Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force
• Macaroni Kid Lafayette
• Project LAUNCH
• Second Harvest Food Bank
• Special Olympics LA

Daniel Tiger will salute our neighborhood heroes! Ride the “trolley” and visit the petting zoo!

LPB will demonstrate simple ways that parents can be “Brain Builders” with their kids and share Vroom’s free tips and resources that are based on the latest neuroscience research.

There will be food for sale from Kona-Ice of Acadiana, Big Juicy's BBQ, Pop-A-Licious, Rice Kings, and Rock House Kitchen Company.

Admission is free and open to the public. We are asking for donations of Mardi Gras beads for Mardi Gras Beads-n-More, one of LARC's Enterprises which creates jobs and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. We will also conduct a Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive and collect new and gently used (clean) sweaters, coats and cold-weather gear that will be distributed through Acadiana agencies.

This event was made possible by the Fred Rogers Company and Vroom — an initiative of the Bezos Family Foundation.

LARC’s Acadian Village is located at 200 Greenleaf Drive in Lafayette. For more information, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call (225) 767-4276.
