Louisiana's Hidden History: Spanish Louisiana in the American Revolution

In support of America’s 250 celebration, LPB Education developed six standards-aligned resources to help grade 3-8 students understand the important role of Spanish Louisiana in winning the American Revolution. Diverse troops led by Governor Bernardo de Gálvez fought several battles against the British during the war.

Want to ride a horse, reach for the stars, come face to face with a tiger, score the winning goal or become an adventurer in East Baton Rouge Parish? Look no further than BREC! The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge or BREC as it is commonly known was created to develop, maintain, and operate public park and recreational properties and facilities, including the Baton Rouge Zoo, for all the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish. Whether citizens of the parish want to experience the beauty of nature, exercise, slow down, relax or make memories, there’s a BREC program or park available for that purpose.
